Why is my kid's hair like this?

You're not alone if you're asking these questions...
LittleLane Haircare have put together some answers to some of your most frequently asked kids hair care questions....

Kids hair care tips for frizz, knots and chlorine
Frizz on curls always comes down to hydration, not styling.

Curly hair needs more moisture than straight hair just to sit the way it wants to, and once it dries out, the frizz shows up no matter how much product you put on top.

Apply the  curl cream and  curl spray. while the hair is still wet, not after it's dried, so it seals moisture in instead of trying to smooth frizz after the fact.

Knots aren't really a brushing problem, they're a slip problem.

Dry, rough strands catch on each other fast, no matter how careful you are. Detangle from the ends up, not top down, while there's still some moisture in the hair, not bone dry.

Gentle detangling tips for children's hair
Usually it's one of two things.

1. They're worried about water in their eyes, or
2. the brushing hurts.

Tilting their head back to look at the roof, helps keep water off their face. Showing them first having the water trickle down the back of their head and down their back can help get them comfortable.

Detangling with the detangling brush while the conditioner is in.
The conditioner is smoothing down the cuticle, making it more slippery to untangle the knots.

Tips for washing and detangling a child's hair
That crunch is chlorine and salt sitting on the outside, not damage.

Rinsing after the pool helps but doesn't fully clear it, especially with fine kids' hair.

The bit most people skip is sealing the hair back up afterwards, not just rinsing the pool out.  The  2-in-1 Shampoois perfect for after swim cleanses, being nice and quick, cleansing and conditioning at the same time.

Kids' scalps just don't produce as much natural oil as ours do, the oil glands aren't fully active until puberty.

That's not a sign anything's wrong, it just means the hair needs help doing a job the scalp isn't doing yet.

A proper conditioning step every wash matters more for kids than for us, not less.
